Timber illegal logging and transportation statistics - March 2004

The National Forestry Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture employees detected 111 illegal logging and timber transportation cases in March 2024 across the country.

10 violations were detected by the employees of the Kakheti Forest Service, 4 - Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 35 - Kvemo Kartli, 18 - Shida Kartli, 4 - Samtskhe-Javakheti,  18- Guria, 17 - Imereti, and 5 - Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Forest Service.

Documentation has been prepared for the offenders, and their vehicles have been impounded and moved to the agency's "business yards". Case materials were sent to relevant agencies for further response.

In March 2024, National Forestry Agency employees impounded 65,115 cubic meters of various wood types, which were moved to the agency's "business yards".

As for the period from January to March 2024, the National Forestry Agency has identified 209 facts of illegal logging and transportation of timber throughout the country, the volume of resources stored in "business yards" amounts to 232,349 cubic meters.
