At the initiative of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the arrangement of the "business yards" is being actively carried out in almost all municipalities. "Business yard" has been arranged in Borjomi on the plateau area, which will serve about 15 villagers.

As it is known, the National Forestry Agency is changing the practice of timber production. Social logging will be phased out, the agency will organize timber production, sorting, and warehousing in "business yards". This change will make it easier for the population and the private sector to purchase and transport timber at the desired time.

“Our goal is to make forest use more efficient. The transition to a new management model of the National Forestry Agency is a prerequisite for this, which will reduce the negative impact on the forest and the risks of illegal logging. Most importantly, it will be easier for the population to buy both firewood and timber at any time,"- said David Aladashvili, Deputy Head of the National Forestry Agency.

Works for arranging "business yards" have already been completed at a total of 18 locations - in Imereti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, and Kakheti regions. By the end of the year, 26 "business yards" will be arranged across the country.
